Maudie Cox has been the Director of Wesley Preschool since 2010. Maudie graduated from Southern Methodist University with degrees in Organizational Behavior/Business Policy and Psychology. She later went on to receive her Texas Educator Certificate for Early Childhood – 4th grade. Maudie is married to Paris “Bubba” Cox, and they have three sons (Sterling, Hunter, and Spencer). When not busy with Wesley children, or her own, Maudie is kept occupied by their small farm of dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, donkeys, rabbits, and a horse!
Katie Oden-Rios, Administrative Assistant
Katie has been with Wesley UMC since October 2017. She enjoys connecting with people and helping serve the church. Katie was raised in Harlingen and graduated from Harlingen High School South. She also attended TSTC. She has many years experience as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper, as well as customer service. She previously worked for her family's marine construction business running all aspects of the office. She loves spending time with her family, going to the beach and concerts. Katie is married to her husband Kris and they have a daughter, Sloane. Katie is the keeper of the schedule and is happy to help you with any facility or ministry questions you have. She serves as the staff liaison for the Trustees.
Cheryl Reed, Music Director
Cheryl Reed is the church Music Director. Cheryl grew up in Harlingen, TX and graduated from Harlingen High School. After high school she went to TSTI (TSTC now) and received her General Office Clerk Certificate. Her passion has always been music. She started taking piano lessons at age 5 from her church’s organist and studied piano under several other teachers who were church accompanists. It is only natural that she wants touse her talent serving the Lord.
Lisa Reyna, Custodian
Lisa Reyna serves as the custodian at Wesley UMC and is a preschool teacher.
Sallie Villarreal, Bookkeeper
Sallie Villarreal has served as the bookkeeper for Wesley UMC since June 2008, and works closely with the finance and stewardship ministries of the church. She grew up in Houston, Texas, but has lived in Harlingen for over 30 years. She enjoys reading contemporary fiction and memoirs; she loves to travel and recently visited Colorado. Before serving at Wesley, Sallie was a bookkeeper for a local law firm. She enjoys volunteering for the backpack ministry and Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Wesley and helps with VBS and major events at her local church. Sallie is married to Michael and has two grown daughters Julie and Sarah and a geriatric cat named Callie the Calico.
